Autumnal Trip to Paris

  1. Your account of your trip to Paris reminded me of when I visited Paris and Dijon 30+ years ago. Dijon (in Burgundy) would be a good choice for your next trip. Just one anecdote, by way of tidbit. There is an aristocratic house you can visit. When you go down to the crypt, you can smell the old stone. That was when I realised for the first time that, yes, stone can have a smell.

  2. Many happy returns! Paris is always such a much-appreciated capital to visit, often with something new to discover. La Sainte Chapelle is such a reliquary of a building, always takes my breath away; however, we’ve only just peeked inside the entrance of the Opera, not been on a tour around it as you two did!

  3. Lovely photos! You chose great places to visit, some of which I haven’t been to, even though I live quite close to Paris by train! I love the Sainte Chappelle and I also visited on a sunny day – the feeling of awe it inspires is really hard to describe! I’m also curious to visit Victor Hugo’s house on my next visit. Thanks for sharing!
