Skylark

I don’t think I shared a jazz piece before, so I thought I would share this composition sung by Ella Fitzgerald to brighten everyone’s Monday. Skylark [1941] was composed by Hoagy Carmichael (Georgia on My Mind [1930]) with lyrics by Johnny Mercer (Moon River [1961]).

“We dream of travels throughout the universe: is not the universe within us? We do not know the depths of our spirit. The mysterious path leads within. In us, or nowhere, lies eternity with its worlds, the past and the future.” Novalis

"It does not matter how many books you have, but how good are the books which you have, and that you read them.” Seneca
