The Midwich Cuckoos

Midwich Cuckoos CoverKnowledge itself is power…but none of…knowledge is of the least use until it is informed by understanding. Knowledge is simply a kind of fuel; it needs the motor of understanding to convert it into power”

John Wyndham, The Midwich Cuckoos [1957: 176].

    1. Since I love quotes on knowledge and came across it, I thought I would share šŸ™‚

I liked the book, it is by the author of the Day of the Triffids, and the sci-fi plot of The Midwich Cuckoos is really crazy: a silver object appears in “a sleepy English village” and when it is gone most women end up pregnant. The resulting Children unsettle the village. I liked the beginning, but it was also a bit unsatisfying towards the end and left too many questions unanswered.
